Gympanzee

The chimps at Chimp Haven are encouraged to participate in their own wellness and medical care through Positive Reinforcement Training and the sanctuary’s Gympanzee program. Gympanzee pairs staff with chimps to help the chimps become more healthy and active. As part of the Gympanzee program, staff work one-on-one with chimps to provide personalized care and positively address a whole host of issues, ranging from mobility to physical activity to promote healthy weight loss. The chimps look forward to their Gympanzee sessions and love to see their staff buddies coming over to train!
